The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is in the process of discussing terms for fresh financial assistance to Yemen with the country’s government, an IMF official revealed on 2 April. Yemen critically needs assistance in making sure projects receive ongoing funding, but experts warn better coordination is needed among international donors so as to maximize the impact of such assistance from abroad.

Speaking ahead of a meeting of Arab finance ministers and central bank governors in Dubai, director of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia department Masood Ahmed said the talks were focused on the details of a new financial program for the Arab world’s poorest country. (CONTINUED - 575 WORDS)
