Qatar is running short of tanker storage as summer winds down, raising the risk that it will have to cut operations at its LNG plants again. An increase in loadings from June allowed it to step up operations in preparation for a full restart, but the collapse of the US-Iran MoU in July limited its ability to bring empty LNG tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, leaving little available storage capacity.
Qatar loaded 1.42mn tons of LNG in August, averaging 47,000 tons per day. Roughly half was delivered to Kuwait, and the other 0.72mn tons was loaded onto eight vessels. At the time of writing, all but one remained at anchor inside the Gulf, according to Kpler. (CONTINUED - 859 WORDS)
