Egypt has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with UAE-based Alcazar Energy for a new 407MW wind farm at Zafarana, on the country’s Red Sea. It adds further momentum to Cairo’s plans to more than triple installed renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade (MEES, 24 July).
