Oman’s Ministry of Finance released its Q2 update this week, showing that the government earned its first quarterly surplus since 4Q 2024. The official figures show that Muscat generated $9.39bn in revenues, leading to a modest $20mn surplus (see chart 1).
Oman Secures Q2 Budget Surplus
Muscat recorded its first quarterly fiscal surplus since the end of 2024 in Q2. High oil prices caused by the regional war should set Oman up for an overall surplus this year, markedly outperforming the budget’s $1.4bn deficit forecast.
