After years of stalled plans and financing delays (MEES, 3 January 2025), Tunisia’s renewable energy strategy is finally making progress, with the commissioning of a 50MW solar power plant and the launch of a new tender for 300MW of solar power with storage this week.
Power generation from renewable energy in Tunisia has hovered at around 3% of the power mix for a decade, but progress has been picking up pace with new additions in the past three years, hitting 5.1% for 2024 (MEES, 28 March 2025).
