US major Chevron says its Nargis-2 appraisal well offshore Egypt has confirmed gas-bearing Miocene and Oligocene reservoirs encountered at the original Nargis-1 discovery.
In a statement to MEES, Chevron said the well encountered ‘high-quality reservoirs’ and achieved its appraisal objectives. Egypt’s Petroleum Ministry said on 24 October that drilling also encountered an additional gas-bearing interval, with up to 35 meters of net gas pay at a total depth exceeding 5,000 meters.
