Qatari-Syrian firm UCC began work on a 186km extension to the Arab Gas Pipeline (AGP), connecting the cities of Homs and Aleppo. This will connect the AGP with an existing pipeline that brings gas from Turkey’s Kilis region to Aleppo (MEES, 1 August 2025).
UCC said the new 36-inch pipeline will be completed within 22 months, implying delivery around August 2028. The company said the project will “contribute to strengthening Syria’s gas infrastructure, enhancing the capacity of its gas transmission network, and supporting regional connectivity with Jordan, Türkiye and Lebanon.” (CONTINUED - 265 WORDS)
