Shut-ins at key fields weighed on Israeli gas output in Q2, resulting in a 15% drop to 2.249bn cfd. As well as precautionary shut-ins amid the June conflict with Iran, output was impacted by expansion projects. The key 22.3tcf Leviathan field, operated by Chevron, was most impacted. Production at the field was halted twice during the quarter, resulting in a 31% drop in production to 798mn cfd, the lowest level since 4Q 2020 (see chart 1).
