Isramco and Mubadala Energy have announced plans for a long-term gas sales deal with an Egyptian counterpart that could extend into the 2040s. An Isramco filing with Israel’s Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) on 16 July stated that a non-binding MoU had been signed with a foreign customer for 80bcm from the 13.7tcf Tamar gas field over 2031-2038.
Israeli firm Isramco has a 28.75% stake in Tamar, and Abu Dhabi state-firm Mubadala Energy holds 11%. Field operator Chevron (25%) and local firms Tamar Petroleum (16.75%), Union Energy (14.5%) and Dor Gas (4%) may ultimately join the agreement, although none has yet publicly confirmed participation.
