Morocco’s installed renewables capacity hit 3.69GW (1.55GW wind, 0.83GW solar, 1.31GW hydropower – excluding pumped storage) at the end of 2022, second only to Israel’s 4.8GW as the Mena region renewables leader (MEES, 16 June) – the UAE is in third place on 3.64GW, and with a 2GW solar plant due online by year-end will soon overtake Morocco.
