Israeli state utility IEC says plans to upgrade the country’s electricity transmission system are progressing, with the Energy Ministry’s Electricity Authority having approved an 8-year (2023-2030) plan to spend at least IS25.8bn ($7.2bn) to this effect.

IEC announced “that on 11 June, 2023, the Electricity Authority published a decision, in which it detailed its recommendation to the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure regarding the development plan of the transmission and transformation system.” The plan will “enter into force” once approval is received from both the energy minister and finance minister.
