Russian private sector firm Lukoil has signed a 10-year “supplementary agreement” to extend its existing technical service contract (TSC) at Iraq’s 480,000 b/d-capacity West Qurna-2 (WQ-2: Lukoil 75%, North Oil Co 25%) oil field in Basra (see map). As per a 2 November statement, Lukoil says that the extension, signed with state firm Basrah Oil Company (BOC), extends the contract life to 2045 and offers improved terms. Under the new terms, Lukoil agreed to a “gradual doubling” of the field’s output to reach its plateau production target (PPT) of 800,000 b/d.
