Iran plans to add 16,000 b/d to Yaran oil field production capacity through a second development phase. Phase-1 capacity initially reached 30,000 b/d but has since fallen back to 20,000 b/d according to the project’s head of development at NIOC, Hossein Zenozi. The new development will bring capacity to 36,000 b/d.

The Phase-2 contract was awarded to local firm Persia Oil & Gas which in 2020 signed a 10-year $463mn agreement to boost output at the North and South Yaran fields (MEES, 17 July 2020). Persia is a subsidiary of Tadbir Energy Development Group which is also a 15% shareholder at the planned 300,000 b/d Shahid Qassem Soleimani refinery (MEES, 9 September). (CONTINUED - 107 WORDS)
