The 450mn cfd capacity Khor Mor gas field in Iraqi Kurdistan’s Sulaymaniyah province has suffered its fourth attack in a matter of weeks. Khor Mor is the semi-autonomous region’s largest gas field and the main source of feedstock for power plants and commercial LPG. Expansion plans have been put on hold amid security concerns (MEES, 1 July).

UAE-based Dana Gas which operates the field alongside Crescent Petroleum on behalf of the Pearl Petroleum consortium said in a 26 July filing to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange that “two small rockets landed within the Khor Mor Block in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.” Adding that “there were no injuries, and production operations continue as normal.” (CONTINUED - 261 WORDS)
