Abu Dhabi state energy firm Adnoc announced on 16 August that it is investing $187mn in expanding the capacity of the Al Nouf field from 160,000 b/d to 175,000 b/d by 2024. It has awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to local firm Robt Stone, “which will see more than 75% of the value returning to the UAE’s economy under our flagship In Country Value program.”

Al Nouf – formerly known as Al Dabbi’ya – is around 85km southwest of Abu Dhabi and is part of the 2mn b/d Adnoc Onshore concession. It has been producing since 2005. Adnoc says the work will entail the addition of 20 new wells at the field “and expand the use of water and gas (WAG) injection for enhanced oil recovery.” (CONTINUED - 310 WORDS)
