For Egypt’s upstream, Q2 saw gas output dip from record levels seen in Q1 as water infiltration problems at Eni’s deepwater Zohr field more than outweighed the ramp up of output at BP’s Raven. For oil, there is as yet little sign of a rebound from the 40-year low output figures plumbed in Q1, though recently-agreed concession deals hold out hope that the second half of this year will see the first shoots of recovery (see chart 1).
