Italian firm Eni this week announced a new gas discovery offshore Egypt, on the Abu Madi West license (Eni 75%op, BP 25%) in the shallow waters of the Nile Delta. The Nidoco NW-1 well was drilled in 16ms of water depth, 5km offshore and 4km north of the firms’ 1bn cfd Nooros field discovered in July 2015.
