Libya’s ongoing oil blockade is forcing National Oil Corporation (NOC) to cut gas supplies to the two eastern power plants of Benghazi and Zueitina as storage for condensate produced alongside gas is almost full.

NOC says it has already reduced supplies from 250mn cfd to 160mn cfd and expects to completely halt deliveries on 15 August. This is likely to increase power cuts which have recently lasted up to 10-12 hours in the east. Gas can be replaced with imported liquid fuels but this is both expensive and logistically more challenging. (CONTINUED - 123 WORDS)
