Oman’s Ministry of Oil and Gas has approved a field development plan (FDP) for the Yumna offshore field operated by Masirah Oil, which is 86.37% owned by Singapore-listed investment firm Rex.

In a 17 July statement, Rex stated that Masirah will “fully develop the Yumna Field while continuing to explore the rest of Block 50 Oman.” Yumna is located fairly centrally in Block 50, which lies to the north of the Eni-operated Block 52. Eni drilled a shallow-water exploration well in February and the lack of any update since indicates that no significant discovery was made (MEES, 10 July). (CONTINUED - 326 WORDS)
