An armed group attempted to storm the National Oil Corporation (NOC) headquarters in Libya’s Tripoli on 23 November, but was prevented from entering the building by the firm’s Petroleum Facilities Guard.

MEES understands the group was angered by a management shake-up in several Libyan oil companies last week. Among the firms affected are Mellitah Oil & Gas, Agoco, Waha Oil Company and Harouge Oil Operations, which combined account for the overwhelming majority of Libya’s oil and gas production capacity (MEES, 6 November).
