Qatar Petroleum announced on 27 September that it has started supplying ultra low sulfur diesel from its refinery at Mesaieed in southeast Qatar with the completion of upgrading of the plant’s diesel hydrotreaters.

QP says that all diesel sold in Qatar now meets the EU’s Euro 5 specification, which sets an upper limit of 10ppm sulfur in diesel fuel. Minister of State for Energy Affairs and QP chief executive Saad al-Khaabi says the upgrade “supports two of our strategic objectives – continuous energy efficiency improvements and environmental excellence.” (CONTINUED - 281 WORDS)
