Despite its substantial offshore acreage, Oman has never been able to hit the maritime jackpot when it comes to oil and gas. The overwhelming majority of its 970,000 b/d oil and 4.4bn cfd gas output comes from the onshore with Norway’s DNO last year deciding to walk away from the country’s only producing offshore asset, Block 8 (MEES, 16 March 2018).
