Abu Dhabi’s Takreer Awards Gasoline And Aromatics Contracts, Eyes Further Expansion

The Takreer refining subsidiary of Abu Dhabi state petroleum firm Adnoc has awarded two contracts for its recently announced Gasoline and Aromatics Project, which is part of a plan to squeeze more income out of crude oil processed at its Ruwais refining and petrochemicals hub.

Takreer has awarded a front end engineering design (FEED) contract to the Amec International unit of UK’s Amec Foster Wheeler and a process technology licensing contract to France’s Axens. The new plant will produce 4.2mn tons/year (100,000 b/d) of gasoline and 1.6mn t/y of aromatics.

Takreer says it awarded US firm Jacobs Engineering the project management consultancy contract for the FEED phase of the project in June. FEED is due to be finished by January 2018, after which engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work “will take four years to complete.” (CONTINUED - 613 WORDS)
