Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil’s $10bn, 1.4bn cfd Barzan offshore gas development is now set to start up in the first quarter of next year, months behind schedule, with full volumes not till late 2015.
RasGas, the QP/ExxonMobil partnership that will operate Barzan, says that the first of two Barzan trains will come online by March 2015. The second train is not expected online until the middle of next year – likely meaning that Barzan will not hit full output until the second half of 2015.
RasGas had hoped to have the first train online in the third quarter of this year and both trains online and ramping up to full output early next year.
