State-controlled Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) said on 8 August that it had suspended its operations at the Atrush block in Iraqi Kurdistan, joining a long list of foreign operators that have curbed their activities and withdrawn staff from the autonomous region.
It said that as a result of recent developments and escalating instability around the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Taqa has suspended operations at Atrush in the central part of the territory and significantly reduced staffing levels. The Abu Dhabi-based company will continue to monitor the situation with its Atrush partners. Taqa is operator and remains committed to the project, it adds.
