Middle East Peace Process: Another Failed Attempt

John Kerry appears close to giving up on attempts to secure Israel-Palestine peace.

US Secretary of State Kerry announced in Morocco on 4 April that it is time for a “reality check” in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process amid a deep crisis in the talks mediated by the US since last summer.

Mr Kerry added that there were “limits” to the time Washington would expend on trying to get the two sides to reach an agreement. Meetings are still taking place trying to salvage the talks, though with little hope of success.

Secretary Kerry blamed Israel for the failure of the talks as he testified in front of the US Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee on 8 April.
