Iran’s Persian Gulf Star condensate refinery project at Bandar Abbas is two-thirds complete, according to an 11 March IRNA report. The refinery will comprise three 120,000 b/d condensate splitters, the first of which is officially scheduled to come on-line in 2014. When completed, the plant will have capacity to produce 36mn liters/day (225,000 b/d) of gasoline.

IRNA quoted National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) chief Alireza Zeighami as saying that this is one of seven projects that will boost Iran’s gasoline production capacity to 690,000 b/d from around 410,000 b/d now. There are also gasoline expansions under way at the Shazand (Arak), Lavan, Tabriz, Isfahan, Bandar Abbas and Tehran refineries. (CONTINUED - 293 WORDS)
