State-owned firms Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Qatar Petrochemical (Qapco) have awarded Italy’s Tecnimont the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the Al-Sejeel Petrochemical Complex, the largest of two world-scale projects at the centre of Qatar’s strategic petrochemicals expansion program.

Meanwhile Qapco has announced a plan to build a new ethylene plant at its Mesaieed complex, while QP has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan’s Zeon and Mitsui for an integrated world-scale butadiene extraction and elastomers complex at Ras Laffan. (CONTINUED - 510 WORDS)
