Saudi Arabian petrochemicals giant Sabic expects to begin operations at a major growth project in China by the end of the year. In its Q4 earnings results on 30 July, CEO Faisal al-Faqeer said that the Sabic Fujian Petrochemical Complex is on course for start-up in Q4.

Sabic last year described the $6.4bn development as “the flagship project of our strategic expansion in Asia.” It is being developed by Sabic (51%) alongside China’s Fujian Fuhua Gulei Petrochemical (49%), and will be centered around a 1.8mn t/y mixed feed cracker. The complex will also include “world-class downstream facilities including Ethylene Glycols (EG), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC),” among other units (MEES, 19 December 2025).  (CONTINUED - 288 WORDS)
