Mitsubishi Power has signed contracts to support Saudi Arabia’s fuel conversion strategy, which aims to convert 22.3GW of power plant capacity from oil to gas. The strategy is a pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Liquid Displacement Program (LDP) designed to end more than 1mn b/d of oil burn by 2030.
The Japanese company announced on 13 July that it had received orders to supply key components to convert existing oil-fired boilers at the 2.8GW Jeddah South and 2.9GW Shuqaiq power plants into dual-fuel boilers capable of running on either gas or liquids. (CONTINUED - 734 WORDS)
