Abu Dhabi state renewables company Masdar has awarded Chinese-listed Sungrow a key contract for its ambitious $6bn “Round-the-Clock” project. Once complete, the RTC project will include a 5.2GW solar PV plant coupled with a 19GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and be capable of providing 1GW of electricity 24/7. It is planned to start up in 2027 (MEES, 17 January 2025).

Under the agreement announced on 21 May, Sungrow will provide BESS capacity to the RTC 1 Plant (North) element of the project. It will supply 7.5GWh of PowerTitan 3.0 ESS, alongside 2.6GW of PV inverter solutions. (CONTINUED - 128 WORDS)
