Companies operating downstream facilities in Abu Dhabi’s Ruwais are utilizing land routes to export their products while the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.

Fertilizer firm Fertiglobe has been relying on “land logistics, primarily trucks,” CEO Ahmed el-Hoshy told investors on 29 April. Mr Hoshy says the firm “staged product at ports to move out [of] ports that are outside the Strait of Hormuz.” No further details were provided, but the two primary ports on the eastern seaboard are Fujairah and Khor Fakkan.
