The Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) announced on 5 April that it has finalized a contract for drilling services with Saudi-listed firm ADES Holding. The contract covers the rehabilitation and development of existing wells at five gas fields – Abu Rabah, Qamqam, North al-Faydh, al-Tiyas, and Zumlat al-Mahar – as well as the drilling of new wells. The preliminary contract was signed in December, and SPC said that it expects the work will increase production at the fields by 25% after six months, and by 50% after the first year.
