The Leviathan field was shut in on 24 February for “scheduled maintenance work” as part of the process to expand the field’s capacity from 1.2bn cfd to 1.4bn cfd in the coming months (MEES, 6 February), operator Chevron said.
“The current maintenance is related to the activation of the Leviathan Third Gathering Line project,” the US major tells MEES. Chevron adds that “natural gas production from the Leviathan reservoir will be reduced temporarily during the maintenance period,” which is due to end on 27 February according to Israel’s Energy Ministry.
