The Congress comes at a crucial time for the energy sector as the world grapples with the Hormuz crisis which has now lasted for more than seven months. Crude exports from the region have rebounded as Saudi Arabia and other Gulf producers find workarounds, but exports of refined products and LNG remain dangerously low and the global economy is suffering under the pressure (MEES, 2 October).
