In the first good news for Eni in Oman for a while, exploration drilling at Block 47 (Eni 90%, OQEP 10%) encountered gas. After completing drilling the Najd-1 exploration well on 29 July “targets were reached, and good gas shows were encountered in the Natih reservoir interval,” says minority partner OQEP.
Partners had previously received a six-month extension to the first phase of their exploration contract to September (MEES, 22 August). Now with “encouraging exploration results” the partners have secured a further six-month extension from the energy ministry until 24 March 2026 to analyze the collected data. (CONTINUED - 128 WORDS)
