Under the auspices of a joint hydrocarbon-renewable conference held on 11-13 May, state energy firm OQ announced it signed thirteen agreements for renewable energy projects totaling more than $2bn.
As part of the Oman Petroleum and Energy Show (OPES) and Oman Sustainability Week (OSW), OQ signed EPC contracts for the 200MW Riyah-1 and Riyah-2 wind projects and the 100MW North Oman Solar which will be used to reduce emissions from Oman’s largest hydrocarbon producer state firm Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) (MEES, 13 December 2024). On top of these previously announced projects OQ also signed a head of agreement for an unnamed 140MW projects planned in Oxy’s Block 9 (MEES, 28 February). (CONTINUED - 174 WORDS)
