Cyprus has a new energy minister. Replacing outgoing George Papanastasiou is Michael Damianos who had been serving as Health Minister until President Nikos Christodoulides’ latest Cabinet reshuffle on 5 December.

Mr Damianos does not have his predecessor’s 39 years of industry experience but is considered more politically savvy, serving since 2018 as the vice president of the center-right Democratic Party (Diko), President Christodouldes’ key coalition partner. (CONTINUED - 64 WORDS)
