Egypt’s 4.8GW El Dabaa power plant, being built by Russian state firm Rosatom on the Mediterranean coast, took a step closer to start-up on 19 November with the installation of the pressure vessel of the first of four 1.2GW reactors.

As part of the installation, Egypt and Rosatom signed a nuclear fuel purchase order and a comprehensive cooperation agreement according to an Egyptian Cabinet statement. The signing was witnessed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin separately via video conference. (CONTINUED - 187 WORDS)
