Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Petrochemical’s revenues soared in Q3 thanks to the commissioning of the Advanced Polyolefins Industry Company (APOC) joint venture between Advanced (85%) and Korea’s SK Gas (15%). The Apoc facilities at Jubail are centered around an 843,000 t/y capacity Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) plant alongside two polypropylene plants with combined capacity of 800,000 t/y and a 70,000 t/y isopropanol (IPA) unit. The complex started up in July after conducting trial runs earlier in the year (MEES, 18 July).

A new expansion facility drove a 46% increase in revenues for Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Petrochemicals. Saudi firms are investing in growing polypropylene capacity, with two other JVs developing facilities that could add another 650,000 t/y by 2030.
