Xlinks, a UK-based start-up which plans to supply the UK with 3.6GW of green power from southern Morocco from late this decade, has raised its cost estimate to £22-24bn ($27-30bn) from the previous £20bn guidance.

It also last week raised its estimated ‘strike price’ – the power price it says the UK government must guarantee to pay it in order for the project to move forward – to £70-80/MWh in 2012 prices. This equates to £103-118/MWh ($128-$147/MWh) in current prices. (CONTINUED - 367 WORDS)
