Saudi Arabia’s East Pipes Contract For Industry announced on 21 March that it has reached a mutual agreement with Saudi Aramco to cancel an SAR153mn ($41mn) contract for the manufacture and supply of pipelines. The cancellation comes shortly after Aramco cancelled plans to increase crude oil production capacity by 1mn b/d (MEES, 2 February). While key upstream expansion projects are proceeding as previously planned, Aramco will no longer need to increase midstream capacity to handle an additional 1mn b/d.
