Kuwait’s Al Zour refinery resumed exports on 30 April, shipping its first cargo since 7 April as state-operator Kipic gradually brings the refinery’s two operational units back online following repair work (MEES, 14 April). Data intelligence firm Kpler shows the 640,000 barrel very low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) cargo was loaded onto the Desh Garima tanker which picked up a further 110,000 barrel cargo from the UAE’s Fujairah and is due to deliver the volumes to Saudi Arabia’s Shuqaiq port, the site of a large power and water desalination complex. This would be the first instance of Al Zour supplying cargoes to Saudi Arabia.
