Swedish independent Maha Energy announced on 22 May that three of four test wells it drilled in Q1 on the Mafraq field on Block 70 in central Oman produced oil for a total of 1,380 b/d. Mafraq-9 flowed at 300-350 b/d, Mafraq-10 at 430 b/d with 10% water cut, and Mafraq-8 at 600 b/d.

The oil produced was extra-heavy at 11-13 API, with viscosity higher than pre-testing estimates. Output to date has been trucked to third party facilities for further processing, before being transported to the Omani national pipeline. (CONTINUED - 215 WORDS)
