*Russia cemented its position as top crude supplier to the world’s number one importer China in Q1. The quarterly average of 2.05mn b/d was not only the highest ever Russia figure (up 305,000 b/d on Q4 and over 500,000 b/d year-on-year) but the highest figure from any single supplier ever, smashing the previous record of 1.87mn b/d set by Saudi Arabia in 4Q 2019 (see chart 1 and table for full data).
