Italy’s Eni on 28 February announced that it had completed the purchase, initially announced last September (MEES, 9 September), of BP’s stakes in two key Alerian gas projects which together produced 1.08bn cfd (11.2bcm) as well as 34,000 b/d liquids for 2022.
At In Amenas on the Libyan border Eni now has a 45.89% working interest alongside Norway’s Equinor, whilst at In Salah in the country’s far southwest it has 33.15% versus Equinor’s 31.85% stake. Algerian state firm Sonatrach holds the remainder of each, with both operated via separate joint venture companies. (CONTINUED - 1011 WORDS)
