Moroccan state firm ONEE says commissioning at the MD3.5bn ($340mn), 300MW Boujdour wind farm in Western Sahara began on 31 January with full operations expected by the end of March. This will mark completion of the second element of Morocco’s 850MW ‘Integrated Wind Project’ being developed by Morocco’s Nareva and Italy’s Enel.

The first element, 180MW at Midelt, started up at the end of 2020 (MEES, 2 April 2021), whilst the third element, 270 MW at Jbel Lahdid near Essaouira is under construction for start-up this year. The final 100MW at Tiskrad is slated for 2024 start-up. (CONTINUED - 634 WORDS)
