State firm Oman Tank Terminal Company (OTTCO) announced on 10 January that the first cargo of crude oil had been received at its new 5.7mn barrel capacity Ras Markaz storage facility. Crude at the terminal is destined for the new 230,000 b/d OQ8 refinery at Duqm (OQ 50%, Kuwait Petroleum International 50%) where test runs are due to begin early this year (MEES, 23 December 2022). Data intelligence firm Kpler shows that 1mn barrels of Omani crude was delivered by tanker to the facility on 8 January.
