Adnoc has awarded UAE firm National Petroleum Construction Co (NPCC) a $548mn contract to boost gas production capacity at the offshore Lower Zakum field. The EPC for the New Main Gas Line will increase the field’s gas production capacity from 430mn cfd to 700mn cfd by 2025.

Lower Zakum is being developed by Adnoc (60%), Inpex (10%), an Indian consortium (10%), CNPC (6%), Eni (5%), Total (5%) and CNOOC (4%) under a 40 year concession agreement awarded in 2018 (MEES, 16 February 2018). The partners are investing to boost the field’s crude oil capacity to 450,000 b/d by 2025, up from 360,000 b/d in 2018. (CONTINUED - 884 WORDS)
