Egypt, Syria and Lebanon on 21 June signed a Deal that would see 0.65bcm/year of gas (63mn cfd) sent to the 450MW Deir Ammar power station in northern Lebanon.
Despite the fanfare surrounding the signing, the deal still awaits World Bank funding, and approval from the US which will provide the necessary sanctions waivers, as gas is due to transit through Syria.
